Even if we currently in the red zone for the CoVid-19 pandemic, the activities of the UISP Ciriè Settimo Chivasso Territorial Committee do not stop. As we know, for a year now the activities in the fields have suffered a strong setback: starting from the educational projects promoted within the schools, passing through the health promotion programs dedicated to the elderly segment of the population, concluding with events of various kinds that have always certified the presence of the Committee in its area of competence. However the activities behind the scenes continue at full speed, even in the hope of returning to a normal situation as soon as possible.
On the morning of Saturday 13 March, for example, a video-conference meeting was held with the members of the UISP USEP Alpi-Mediterraneo Euro-regional association, led by President Francesco Aceti. The cross-border association, born 11 years ago, has always placed among its main objectives the participation and education of European citizens, as well as the realization of sports, cultural and linguistic exchanges and meetings, especially for children and young people between 6 and 12 years. Present at the meeting were the various members of the Board of Directors, composed of representatives of the USEP Regional Committee -Union Sportive de l’Enseignement du Premier degrè- of Auvergne – Rhône Alpes, of the Consell Esportiu del Baix Camp of Reus, Catalonia, of the Committee Regional UISP Valle d’Aosta and the UISP Territorial Committee Ciriè Settimo Chivasso. For the latter, our Director, Roberto Rinaldi, presided. The focal point of the online meeting was the planning of the seminar Les Chemins de la Mémoire -The paths of Memory- focused on the theme of the Resistance. Originally scheduled between 15 and 18 April 2021, the Council decided to postpone the event to July, to be precise from 8 to 11, in the hope that by this date it will again be possible to hold demonstrations in the presence. if there are no further complications related to the pandemic, the seminar will take place in Turin in the presence of the authorities of the Metropolitan City, the Piedmont Region, the Aosta Valley Regional Council and the ANPI.
“Unfortunately, it was not possible for us to define other initiatives, since the current pandemic situation, especially in Italy, France and Catalonia, states under the competence of the Euroregional Association, does not allow movement between the different realities” he explained with some regret. Rinaldi. “However, this should not be a cause for discouragement: in this regard we are in fact planning a further meeting, again via videoconference, which will be held on April 17 and which will serve to lay the foundations of the Operating Lines that will be undertaken in the coming months”.
