Intense week for UISP Ciriè Settimo Chivasso International branch

Those just passed have been really intense weeks for the Director of our Committee, Roberto Rinaldi, and for the International Project Manager Francesca Di Feo, who have literally flown from one project to another, from Greece, to Italy, to Bulgaria .
From 21 to 23 October Rinaldi and Di Feo went to Athens to take part in the kick-off meeting relating to the “Change” project, always co-financed by the European Union within the Erasmus + Program. The leader of the project is the Freedon Gate Greece association, which until 30 August 2021 will coordinate 8 European realities, including the Ciriè Settimo Chivasso Committee. But also the Association Sport For All Suceava and the European Strategy Consulting from Romania, the Courage Foundation and the United Professional for Sustainable Development Association from Bulgaria, the Probation Service of Greece, the Fundación Diagrama Intervención Psicosocial from Spain and Silta- Valmennusyhdistys ry from Finland. In some respects, “Change” approaches other projects involving the Committee, such as SPIRITS and RE [ENTER]: training is always aimed at operators, but in this case not to those who deal with subjects residing within the detention facilities but to minors who are in a probation condition, or who live alternative measures to prison. The first meeting was mainly introductory, with the presentation of the project itself, the structure of the latter and the various meetings planned in these two years, both to take stock of the situation and to provide the skills in what are defined LTTA Meeting – Learning Teaching and Training Activity. “This is a really nice project,” commented Rinaldi and Di Feo- since it addresses a target that in particular represents a novelty for us, since the Committee has not yet had the opportunity to work with minors subjected to alternative measures to the prison before now. It is certainly an excellent opportunity to make available the skills already acquired during the SPIRITS and RE projects [ENTER]. But, more generally, also to support, through our social skills, alternative measures to detention, which are more effective from the point of view of the rehabilitation of those involved “. In the first week of November, however, Rinaldi and Di Feo went to Bulgaria, in the city of Plovdiv, for the planning meeting concerning the SPIRITS project. A technical meeting, which served above all to verify the correct execution of the project objectives, in order to evaluate any deviations. “During the two days in Plovdiv we found that SPIRITS is proceeding in the best way. Our Project Manager Francesca and the president of the Courage Foundation Lucia Veleva reported the results relating to the Training Days that took place respectively between Borgaro and Alessandria and in Plovdiv. The meeting was also an important moment of reflection in view of the meeting to be held in Athens in March 2020 “commented Rinaldi. On this occasion, part of the representatives of the partners involved – which we remember to be, in addition to our Committee which covers the role of coordinator, the Association Sport For All Suceava from Romania, the Courage Foundation association from Bulgaria, the Freedom Gate Greece from Greece , and the Territorial Committee UISP Alessandria- went to the prison of Stara Zagora in order to meet the operators who deal with the social management of the prison structure.
