Free Nordic Walking courses have officially begun within the European PACE project. The courses, promoted by the UISP Committee of Ciriè Settimo Chivasso, are aimed at verifying, through simple physical tests, the benefits of this activity on a given age group.
The eight participants gathered at 9:30 in the morning at the Ipercoop parking in Ciriè, Via Robassomero 99, and from there they went to the hamlet of Pich, where the Corona Verde route joins, on a path surrounded by greenery , the Lanzo Valleys with the first belt of Turin. After a physical test session, the first real Nordic Walking lesson began, on the technique for using chopsticks and the correct posture to take during practice.
Nordic Walking consists of walking with sticks specifically developed for this sport. It offers an easy, natural and very effective way to improve one’s physical condition and to tone the muscles of the body regardless of age, sex or physical preparation. Plus, it’s fun, relaxing and totally free! In Nordic Walking, about 90% of the body’s musculature is used when applying the correct technique, without putting excessive strain on the joints, with all the benefits that such a complete workout entails. In the various levels of Nordic Walking – simple, fitness and sport – everyone finds the level of practice and the exercises suited to their physical condition. From a quiet and therapeutic walk to a good aerobic workout, up to specific exercises for athletes.
