[RE]ENTER meeting in Madrid

As has been happening for some time, the month of February should have been particularly intense as regards the European activity of the Territorial Committee UISP Ciriè Settimo Chivasso. However, the recent spread of Coronavirus in some states of Europe, including Italy, has suspended some meetings on a date to be scheduled. Before the start of the emergency, however, to be exact on Wednesday 19 February, the third transnational meeting of RE took place in the Spanish city of Madrid [ENTER]. The project, funded under the Erasmus + Key Action 2 program, aims to involve operators who volunteer within prisons, in order to provide them with the necessary tools for the rehabilitation of prisoners after exiting prisons. . Rehabilitation that is not always easy especially from the point of view of reintegration not only in society, but also in the family: for this reason it is essential to provide support not only to prisoners, but also to their families. Unlike the two previous meetings, focused on LTTA activities – Learning, Teaching, Training Activities – which characterized the training path of the project participants with lectures, roleplaying activities and practical exercises to learn the different rehabilitation and rehabilitation techniques – introduction into society of subjects about to leave prison institutions, this meeting was technical. The representatives of the Territorial Committee Ciriè Settimo Chivasso, of the Asociația Județeană Sportul Pentru Toți Suceava and of the European Strategies Consulting from Romania, of the Citizens in Power of Cyprus, of the Fundación Diagrama Intervención Psicosocial of Spain, of the Innovative Prison Solutions of Portugal; from Silta-Valmennusyhdistys ry of Finland and the Greek University of Thessaly coordinated by the leading association Freedom Gate Greece, met to discuss in detail various activities related to RE [ENTER], including the creation of a Training Manual and the production of e-learning material, as well as on the planning of local training courses that will have to be carried out during this 2020. RE [ENTER] in fact stands as a project with a double social value: in addition to providing means of emancipation for prisoners in fact , also intends to offer a concrete job opportunity, giving specific training to 450 subjects – 50 for each of the partners involved – who will volunteer inside and outside the penitentiary institutes. “Thanks to the training of these professionals and the exchange of good practices, the entities involved in the project will be able to provide a better and more efficient rehabilitation path for both prisoners and individuals who have ended their prison term” explained the Director of the Roberto Rinaldi Committee and the Project Manager Francesca Di Feo. The meeting on 19 March was also an opportunity to plan the dissemination of the results of the project and to start organizing the final conference that will take place in Athens.
